Brief Biography:

Professor Hammond studies icy satellites (the moons of Jupiter/Saturn/Uranus/Neptune). Many of these moons likely harbor large water oceans beneath their icy crusts, making them potentially habitable worlds. Professor Hammond uses NASA satellite observations of these moons, along with numerical simulations, to understand how the surfaces and interiors of these icy worlds have evolved.

Area(s) of Expertise:

Planetary Geology and Geophysics, Icy Satellites and Ocean Worlds, Interior Structures of Planets and Moons, Numerical Modeling
