Learning Assistant Program
We are excited to announce the launch of the Engineering & Physics Learning Assistant program. Learning Assistants (LAs) are PC students who have completed the General Physics courses, and will assist the next class of General Physics students by attending the labs and holding tutoring hours.
Learning Assistants will also engage in weekly meetings in which they will discuss aspects of learning, teaching and tutoring, learn to operate and troubleshoot lab equipment, and refresh their knowledge of General Physics. Becoming an LA is a great way to build expertise in physics and teaching.
The presence of Learning Assistants has been shown to have positive impacts on student learning outcomes, the sense of community within the academic department, and the diversity and inclusivity of the Major.
